If you are interested in adopting a dog or cat, take a look at our guidelines below then fill in the application form and let us know when you’d like to come and visit! Following a visit to the shelter, we will do a home visit to ensure your home fills our requirements.
Above all, these animals have survived terrible circumstances and we wish that owners make their pet’s security the highest priority.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Adopt a Cat
We require all cats adopted within Vietnam to go to indoor homes. The owners should have an apartment or high walls around their property that the cats cannot climb over. The problem of cat theft in Vietnam is very bad, so we don’t allow our rescues going to homes that put these cats at risk of being caught, trapped and stolen. We also prefer indoor adoptions for overseas, although exceptions can be made for farms.
Adopt a Dog
Every dog adopted from VAAR within Vietnam should have homes with extremely secure gardens. We require dogs to be kept indoors when the owner is not home or at night, and they should always be walked on a leash. Overseas adoptions are less restrictive but in Vietnam dog theft is a very real terror and we want to make sure all our rescues go to secure, safe homes.
